| February 15, 2004 Back to the studio after a long pause following my Holiday Sale and the vacations, holidays and illnesses that always seem to follow in December and January. The pots in progress here are a continuation of ideas started last fall, using colored slips, stains and commercial underglazes at the leatherhard stage on pots for the soda kiln. (The best finished examples were in my show at The Gallery last October, but they were the first drafts of the idea.) I'm trying to add color into the process while the pots are being made, rather than only after bisque firing, and am looking to subtly expand the color range I can get from the kiln. A lot more time with a brush in my hand than I'd ever expected to spend! |
