St. Earth Pottery is dedicated to creating quality handmade pots. I strive to make things that fullfill both aesthetic and functional needs, and get a lot of satisfaction in creating things that other people can use and enjoy.
All aspects of the studio and business are a one-man operation; I perform each step in the process myself, from clay making to glaze firing and everything in between. Each pot is unique and made by hand, with an emphasis on detail and quality. Most of my pots are individually thrown on the potters' wheel, and fired in gas-reduction, soda or wood-fired kilns. In the summer of 1994 I became attached to the name St. Earth Pottery and it stuck, so that's as good a start date as any. Over a decade later, the name still feels like a good representation of what I do. It references ceramic tradition and clay itself in a way that I like, with a bit of the mystical and nostalgic thrown in for good measure. I live and work in Fillmore, Indiana. |
